You follow these — you would never say them
Commands and requests: the polite form ends in -ed
The rule
With du it is the bare stem: «Chumm». With Sie it takes -ed: «Chömed Sie».
Chömed Sie doch ine.
Kommen Sie doch herein.
Blibed Sie no ächli da.
Bleiben Sie noch ein bisschen da.
Chumm, mir lauffed.
Komm, wir gehen zu Fuss.
Where it catches you
You will follow both. Somebody who says «Chömen Sie» is also understood — and placed as not from here at once.
Where this actually comes up
The same structure, in sentences people actually say.
- At work
Chumm, mir mached Pause.
Komm, wir machen Pause.
- At the kindergarten
Bringed Sie bitte Finkeli mit.
Bringen Sie bitte Hausschuhe mit.
