Appearance
Light, dark, or whatever your device is set to. The choice stays in this browser.
Heidi's voice
Nothing is ever spoken until you ask for it. No browser anywhere ships a Zurich voice — the closest any device offers is Swiss Standard German, and Heidi says which one you are hearing every time she speaks.
Corrections
How much Heidi says about the words in a speaking take, after you have written down what you said. Never your spelling: Zurich German has no correct spelling, so there is nothing there to be wrong about — and never what you type in the chat, because a message somebody else sent you looks exactly like one you wrote.
Heidi cannot tell you whether your accent is right. Nothing can, reliably, today. What she can do is understand you and answer.
Language model
By default Heidi uses free models, which can read pictures. Your own key makes the answers sharper.
Notifications
Notifications come with an account — they belong to your channels.
Account
For progress on every device, certificates, saved conversations and study groups. Translating and practising need no account.
What is held on this device
Your conversation stays in this browser — including after you close the tab — until you press New chat. Signed in, it is stored on our server instead. To be answered, every message goes to a model vendor. Your own key stays here only, and so do saved words — unless you turn on Progress on every device.
